FAIL SAFE (Reverse Action) NORMALLY UNLOCKED(Locked When Energized) Fail safe action (continuous duty) can only operate with DC coil assemblies. Units with DC coils are field reversible, fail safe action or fail secure continous duty operation. Strikes which are energisezed for periods longer than one minute need to use DC coils.

FAIL SECURE - NORMALLY LOCKED (Unlocked when energized) Units with AC coils are for Fail Secure (Intemittent duty) use only and should be energized for periods of less than one minute
